Thank you, goodnight, but not goodbye
Wow – what a difference a week makes. This time last week Brighton Fashion Week was in full swing with Jez Eaton's recycled couture hitting the runway of the Brighton Corn Exchange clad in tampons, condoms and all other manner of household bits and bobs, fashioned into such jaw-droppingly fabulous ensembles the front row were left completely gob smacked. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, and for Brighton Fashion Week 2010 we are sad to say that this is a wrap. We do however, have a few exciting tricks up our sleeves in the lead up to next year's event (in the not too distant future) that we're pretty sure will keep your sartorial taste buds well and truly tickled.
In the coming weeks we'll be publishing all the images from the shows over Brighton Fashion Week so keep all eyes on our gallery (and please bear with us, we are currently working our way through thousands of images). Those of you who took your own shots and feel that them taking up space on your memory card just isn't doing them justice, why not post them on our Facebook or Twitter pages for the whole world to see?
Back to business for one second though, the team here at Brighton Fashion Week think it's fair to say that 2010's event has been by far the most successful yet. Not only has it sparked more attention from the city itself (mission accomplished!), the event received an unprecedented amount of interest from designers, press and of course your beautiful selves, contributing to what can only be described as an awe-inspiring showcase for independent design, Brighton and of course alternative fashion.
Highlights for the team here included Jez Eaton's Trashion Show (her roller booted sanitary towel clad girls were a particular hit with BFW team members), studio_805's Couture Show collection (mouthpiece anyone?), Barbara Hulnicki of BIBA's guest appearance at the Ready-to-Wear Show and of course the much deserved after party where the team behind the production of Brighton Fashion Week had the chance to finally let their hair down.
Of course we cannot sign off without saying a huge thank you to all of our sponsors: b.lateral, DMH Stallard, Cardens, Addicted Cosmetics, Request Print, Storm, Headmasters, Fashion Insider, Garage Studios, Spindle Magazine, Oki-nami, Dermalogica, Hilton, Osomi, Tres Digital, C3 Productions, Tres Digital and Irregular Choice whom without, the event would not have been possible – thanks all!
And finally a thank you to the Brighton Frocks team for working night in night out to make this such an immense success...we'll be back very soon with more frocks and fun.
Till then,
The BFW Team x
